4 Ways in Which AI Will Change Your Job and Life

4 Ways in Which AI Will Change Your Job and Life - learn about each and the impact they are already having on the world.

4 Ways in Which AI Will Change Your Job and Life

Several experts disagree on the ability of AI to alter the way humans work and learn, and it’s especially challenging to predict the impact of full-scale general artificial intelligence on the labor market. There is, however, more agreement on how AI can enhance the way humans work, freeing up some space for less mundane and repetitive tasks.

The usage of artificial intelligence goes beyond ChatGPT prompts, as advanced AI solutions can automate tasks from scheduling to data analysis. They can also change the way we acquire and process information.

In this article, we provide four ways in which AI can already be used to enhance your work-and-life balance by automating some tasks and helping you accomplish others more efficiently.

  1. AI for Personalized Training

Personal training has been a challenge for several companies, especially big corporations, because there is a need to provide standardized training as it is cheaper and more systemized, but at the same time everyone has different learning styles and needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to training, and the introduction of artificial intelligence can help your company shift balance to a more individual style of learning.

Based on neuroscientific studies, we know that as humans we have a forgetting curve - the speed and rate at which we acquire and forget new information. As AI is good at seeing patterns, it can be used to fit the existing training results to this forgetting curve and understand where employees need more training.

Trained machine learning algorithms can then be used to analyze performance data on how well an employee performed based on the training provided, and which areas of training need repetition or adjustment.

  1. Entertainment

AI is revolutionizing not just how we work, but also how we spend our free time. Many companies like Netflix already use AI-based algorithms to analyze their audiences and provide a more tailored service. The same can be said when it comes to targeted ads, which are based on similar data.

However, there have been some controversies when it comes to AI and movies/TV shows. This comes into play when it’s not used as a tool but as a human replacement, where studios have stated their wish to use it to create things such as scripts or use AI to voice characters. Of course, the implications could be detrimental, which is why we’re hopeful that this won’t happen any time soon.

But this is not the only sector that has been impacted. When it comes to gaming, we can take an example using a popular blackjack game. For those who haven’t played such games before, they can be typically found through online casinos where users can play with real money. And since it’s available on various devices, from phones to tablets to PCs, AI’s impact is universal across all boards.

AI here comes into play in different ways, an AI-based algorithm could choose the ideal variant for you as a player – whether it’s Single Deck or Double Deck blackjack - minimizing decision fatigue. Thanks to its ability to process vast amounts of data instantaneously, you’ll have more time to focus on playing rather than wasting precious time scrolling through the options.

The learning curve for games can vary, as the overall strategy can be quite simple to get into but tough to master. AI can change this by helping players better understand not only the rules of the game but also the algorithms behind it, such as RNG, which is a coding technique to keep player’s experience varied and unpredictable.

All of the above are just a few examples that can then be applied to practically any game or entertainment field. However, this proves its ability to save our time and energy, as long as it's used mindfully.

  1. Using AI Virtual Assistants

Outsourcing mundane tasks to others, like assistants, is often cheaper and more efficient than attempting to do everything yourself. Virtual assistants have been proven to be one of the best solutions for outsourcing as you can often hire someone remotely from a different country for a fraction of the cost of assistants in the US or the UK.

Introduction of the AI in virtual assistant space means that at least partially, you can remove the human component from the equation. Several AI integrations (such as Coda or Monday to name a few) allow you to automate scheduling, sending emails, invoicing, and even aspects of bookkeeping. Some advanced AI solutions can even do data entry and analysis.

The biggest benefit of this AI solution is that it takes feedback from past performance and improves its future performance by personalizing its execution. This makes AI virtual assistants not just great for the professional context but also daily, routine tasks. A particularly helpful example is usage of the AI assistants for people with impaired hearing or vision.

  1. AI for Feedback Systems

Managers often struggle with providing feedback - some are too critical, and some are not comfortable sharing crucial feedback unless it's anonymous. Several studies, including one by Harvard Business Review, have found 360-degree feedback particularly useful, which involves feedback from both managers and employees instead of a top-down approach.

AI in this instance can be used to generate feedback by analyzing large volumes of behavioral data and as such, it is a more objective tool for deriving conclusions based on employee behavior. Often, humans are biased to remember only negative information and hence fail to establish a full picture of someone’s work performance. AI solves this problem by using machine learning to analyze full company performance, as well as each individual employee’s effect on collective performance indicators.

360-degree feedback forms and surveys can be generated and anonymized using AI, and the feedback managers get from these surveys can be also analyzed using machine learning algorithms. Since most employee feedback is not quantitative, it is impossible to simply average out all the feedback someone is receiving. AI, however, can understand the qualitative aspect of feedback and integrate it into a single report.

Ultimately, this can ensure the comfort of both employees and employers, as the feedback will go through a completely unbiased third party - AI. Of course, as this is still a developing advancement, a human should still go through the findings as AI can’t understand the more emotional aspects of feedback. However, we can expect this also to change, as this technology is evolving at an incredible pace.
